Hope Dims for Godwin Obaseki
A Federal High Court in Port-Harcourt, Rivers State Monday gave clear signals that Edo State governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki would not contest the September governorship election in the state.
But his supporters hinged their hope of Obaseki’s second term on the vacation of the court order.
Indications that Obaseki may not contest in the June 25 PDP primaries came out in Rivers State Monday evening.
The court restrained Obaseki from participating in PDP primary election scheduled for June 25, 2020.*
The restraining order comes following a suit filed against Obaseki by Ogbeide-Ihama saying the governor did not purchase PDP form or undergo screening within the stipulated time.
The Court ordered accelerated hearing and determination of the Motion on Notice for Interlocutory Injunction
It also ordered for the status quo be maintained until the matter is heard.
